I photographed these lovely orchids in a window in the small town of Schierstein, Germany and then used digital programs to create the image as it is now.

Orchids are one of the two largest families of flowering plants on earth and come in an enormous variety of colors and shapes, though always with bilateral symmetry. This one, a Phalaenopsis, or white phal, sometimes called a moth orchid, is popular because it is easier to grow and care for than some.
