Description
Torres De Quart in Valencia Spain. The gothic military style Torres De Quart (Quart Towers) were built in the 15th Century as part of a defensive wall surrounding the medieval old town. Gateway to the lively Barrio Del Carmen district, these ancient and imposing city gates have a varied past, including some time being utilised as a women's prison. They also still bear the scars from the Siege of Valencia by Napoleonic forces in 1808. A climb to the top will reward with wonderful panormic views over this beautiful historic Spanish city. I blended a little texture with my original photograph to compliment the vintage feel of this old world Spanish street scene.
