Description

Sunset at the Museum features the Sodus Point Lighthouse Museum in the mid-ground of a wonderful Finger Lakes Region sunset! The Sodus Point Lighthouse was originally built in the late 1800's and was in service till the 1970's when the US Coast Guard vacated it. In the mid 1980's it became a Sodus Point Lighthouse Museum and has been maintained that way since. There is another lighthouse just offshore, known as the Sodus Point Outer Marker Light that stands just several hundred yards away from the museum, which marks the entrance to Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario.
